Welcome to physedtech, a blog describing ways to incorporate technology into Physical Education. I am excited to share some of the ways I use an iPad and specific apps in gym class. The iPad has become an invaluable tool for me in my teaching, being utilized in almost all aspects (instruction, management, organization, lesson delivery, assessment and everything in between.) I firmly believe technology has a huge place in PE as it allows for many tasks be done in new, exciting and more efficient ways. This not only addresses the needs of a 21st century learner, but through this increased efficiency it actually allows more time for students to be active. I hope this will be a place to help share some ideas with other educators of how to use technology within PE.

Towards the end of 2010 I was privileged enough to start using an iPad in my teaching. Since then, I have had a time full of learning (going from the original iPad to the iPad2.) The task of incorporating more technology into my teaching has gone from being a simple interest to being a passion of mine. When I look back, the changes have been vast and I am excited to share some of these here.

A little about myself:

I am have been a full time teacher since September of 2004. The first four years of my career were in a sixth grade classroom. Since 2008 I have been the PE Specialist at a Kindergarten to 5th grade elementary school of over 400 students. I teach all the Physical Education for the grade 1 to 5 students teaching 15 different classes. I love technology and am constantly reading blogs and articles about it. On top of having a job I love, my passions are spending time with my family and spending time boating.
